It has taken several weeks but we have finished the foundation to the point now that the house can be lowered onto it. There will be some work that needs to be done to tie it all together and fix some more dry rot but the major part is complete. After we removed the back addition Phil Joy’s team came in to remove the steel beams that held that part of the house up. It is amazing to watch how they manage to move the beams around. You can watch a short video in the attached file along with photos of the whole process of digging, building forms and pouring the foundation. We also had to straighten out the wavy mud sill and floor joists above it. The house is balloned framed which makes this a bit difficult. It looks so much better now! Next is the careful lowering and removal of the steel beams so the house can then rest on its new foundation. Very exciting! Check out the photos here!
